Same-Day Urgent Care and Telehealth Available at Vero Orthopaedics During COVID-19

Vero Orthopaedics is now offering telehealth to provide essential orthopaedic services while helping prevent the spread of COVID-19. This approach enables patients to safely visit with one of the practice’s specialty-trained care providers from their home or office using video conference and telecommunications technology with a smartphone or tablet. The practice will also offer on-site, same-day appointments for urgent bone, joint and muscle needs at their Vero Beach office, located at 3955 Indian River Boulevard. This adaptive approach will allow for reduced traffic in hospitals, emergency rooms and traditional urgent care facilities while those entities focus on treating COVID-19 cases.

“At Vero Orthopaedics, there is no higher priority than ensuring our patients’ safety and peace of mind,” says Vero Orthopaedics CEO Jennifer Davison. “We would like to minimize everyone’s risk of contracting COVID-19, and our doctors are also committed to providing essential orthopaedic services to our community in Vero Beach, Sebastian and the surrounding areas.

“We remain open six days a week, and our providers see patients the same day for acute bone, joint and muscle issues while also keeping our patients and staff safe,” continues Davison. “Combined with telehealth, our new and current patients can be seen safely for all their orthopaedic needs, and we can ease strain on our health system to better tackle COVID-19.”

While utilizing telehealth, the practice’s specialty-trained experts can provide follow-up care as well as consultation for a majority of bone, joint and muscle conditions. This secure and convenient technology complies with federal health privacy laws and offers area residents accurate, exceptional orthopaedic care. Currently, remote telehealth appointments are only available for established patients at Vero Orthopaedics. To use the service, patients will need internet access and a smartphone or tablet with a working video camera and microphone.

The practice also has safety protocols and follows local and national health safety guidelines for same-day, on-site treatment and any imaging or further care services necessary. As regional experts in orthopaedics and related pain and injuries, Vero Orthopaedics will be able to ease strain on the local health system through telehealth and safe clinical care. This approach will also help to minimize risk of any potential viral exposure.
